When he's not busy charting Modal's future, you might find him perfecting his coffee brewing skills or hitting the trails on his mountain bike. Joe believes that a happy team creates the best work, which is why Modal's studio is always filled with laughter, great music, and the occasional heated debate about whether pineapple belongs on pizza (it doesn't, according to Joe).

What inspired you to start Modal?

"I've always been fascinated by the intersection of creativity and technology. After years of working at various agencies, I noticed there was a gap in the market for a digital team that truly understood both the technical and creative sides of the business. I wanted to create a place where talented individuals could thrive while delivering exceptional results for clients. Modal was born from that vision, a place where digital expertise meets genuine passion."

"It's definitely our approach to collaboration. We don't just work for clients; we work with them. What's your favourite part of the job?

"Seeing a project come to life from concept to completion never gets old. But honestly, watching our team grow and develop their skills is what really makes me proud. Each person brings something special to the table, and seeing them collaborate to solve problems creatively is incredibly rewarding. That, and our Friday afternoon team brainstorming sessions (which may or may not involve some craft beers)."

Any advice for someone starting in the digital industry?

"Stay curious and never stop learning. The digital landscape evolves at lightning speed, so being adaptable is crucial. Don't be afraid to ask questions and make mistakes, that's how we all grow.
